Still Lifes
Tools
These still lifes are from my tool box gifted to me by my uncle. They came from a long dead relative, untouched for over 50 years. I wanted to preserve the memory of these tools, each bit was made by a person. Not an automated machine. They have been preserved well; to the point where I don't want to use the tools as I feel as thought they have a story.
V-Block
A lathe bit and v-block. The lathe bit on the left was one of the more interesting, long and spindly. I believe it is for starting pilot holes or creating mounting divets. I only know a v-block by name. I have never used one; all I know is that it is used as a measurement checker, so precision machining can be done by person. I wanted to highlight the oil stains of the block next to one of the tools it would work with.
Wire Catch
Ancient Tools
BroadHead
A broadhead bolt I found in the woods by my house next to some light up knocks. I enjoy archery, so I wanted to capture some of the things I have found near my house.
Fletchings
A set of arrow fletchings from the new set I bought. The green and white arrow is the last one still in shape after repeated use.
Progress
The aftermath of target practice from 50 feet away. You can only get better by practicing.
Hex
Since I live next to a forest, quite a few pine trees exist in my backyard. Pinecones have a unique shape, I wanted to capture that so I arranged a few and took a photo.
FOV
I was messing with the field of view on my camera trying to create a background of pine cones while having a in focus foreground.
Tiny Trees
A more successful attempt at using the aperture and field of focus to create a well composed picture.
